? New Summer Art for this Lovely Heat Wave (lol?) ?

I've been getting outside early in the morning to water our garden, and have spent afternoons blissfully busy on an awesome illustration project I'll be able to show you soon. Our daughter Joy and I also just got back from summer camp with?Momentum Christian Church?(she as a camper, myself as a cabin leader), and we had a total blasty!

Now that I'm back from camp, it's always exciting?to share some brand new pieces I've created with you! These pieces are great for use as is,?or can be an inspiration towards a new project we can work on together.

Storytime:?Last summer, we got the news that our good friend Kim in Rincon, GA was starting a journey to fight breast cancer. Shortly after finding out,?I sketched out a bunch of greeting card ideas for a piece to send her that I just never got around to. (We DID drive down to see her in person before she started treatments?so we're not completely awful.) I'm so happy to report she's won her cancer battle and is on the other side of that mountain, and I finally got around to working up this sketch into an encouraging piece of art dedicated to my friend. Not looking for a coffee greeting card? The text is layered and can be edited to suit your wall art needs and would be phenomenal hanging in a kitchen!

I created this exuberant fun floral piece for a call for mural concepts recently and man oh man I hope it gets selected! My inspiration for this piece was the sheer variety of flower varieties being grown as a community?along the storefronts in Locust Grove, GA.?Wouldn't this be the most fun mural to go visit in person? Cross them fingers for me - if this project goes forward I'll have a fun community painting day to let locals really a sense of coming together to this project. Also, it'd be a rad background for a selfie... just saying :D?

Also, I'm obsessed with the idea of working this illustration up as a repeat pattern - it would make the coolest fabric for apparel and home decor!

Ok here's a summer conundrum for you. Our family loves hiking. There's tons of good hiking around Georgia. But it's crazy hot out. So morning hikes are where it's at. But it's summertime and school's out. and alarm clocks have been turned off... and we like sleeping... What's a family to do? Is there such a thing as an indoor hike??

Or something where like someone else is hiking, but they show you what it looks like maybe...?

Maybe they've got a camera with them, and stream it online later??

Oh snap I'm describing watching tv.
