A new standard on net zero

This month #TheStandardsShow looked at the latest developments in the relationship between #standards and the #netzero transition.
Work is underway to develop the first ever independently verifiable international #standard on #netzero.
The #standard, which will be developed over the next 18 months with a view to being launched at #COP30 in November 2025, is designed to provide a global solution to guide organizations as they embark on the #netzero transition. And to give them a clearer understanding of what credible #netzero action looks like.
The #standard will see the conversion of the current ISO #NetZero Guidelines - launched at #COP27 - and will involve collaboration between thousands of experts through #NationalStandardsBodies across more than 170 countries.
BSI – The UK’s National Standards Body (NSB) in collaboration with ICONTEC - Colombia’s National Standards Body - is convening the #standard development process. A public consultation is expected to open in 2025 to support global input and ensure all voices are heard.?
This month on #TheStandardsShow Shana Gallagher from BSI – The UK’s National Standards Body (NSB) joined us to tell the story of this important journey: from #NetZero Guidelines to new #NetZero #standard, and just how much of a contribution it will make to the #netzero transition.
