New Spring Growth in SATX

Spring is a time of renewal and growth. It’s a time to reset at home, at work, and in life. After the last two years, it feels like we can finally breathe it all in again. We’re starting to look ahead with certainty, and in the San Antonio region, even greater things are on our horizon.

San Antonio is where I choose to call home. Our region is increasingly where many others are choosing to call home, too. According to U.S. Census data, San Antonio ranked among the top three fastest-growing major U.S. markets in 2021, adding about 130 residents each day. Regional business relocation and expansion momentum has been building, topping 2,000 new jobs announced this year. We’ve seen significant growth coming from California and other Texas metros as companies and people are seeking room for growth.

Many of our new residents are moving to build even greater careers. Young, diverse leaders from entry level to executive have an active role in shaping our region’s future. The San Antonio region is projected to add more than 2,500 new six-figure jobs by 2024. As we continue to grow, we are aligning our education providers to help prepare San Antonians here today to get the high-paying jobs we’re growing in the future. 

When we talk about quality of life, nothing better represents the vibrancy of San Antonio than our marquee Spring celebrations. This month, we hosted the 100th annual Valero Texas Open, set against the backdrop of Fiesta San Antonio, an 11-day community-wide celebration of Mexican-American culture benefitting non-profits in our community. On any other day, you can explore dozens of miles of interconnected greenway and river trails, tour world-class museums, and have dinner prepared by a James Beard Award nominee. San Antonio remains a place of choice, where people can enjoy life.
