Hello there! Unless you have been under a rock the last few years and have not been on Facebook or any other social network, you would have seen a preponderance of a new style of online videos that have come to be known as "BuzzFeed style" videos, mainly because the web publishing company/site Buzz Feed have really put them the map. These videos, most of the time, don't have any talking or narration, they are primarily images, video clips, music via soundtracks, and maybe some bullet points and special video effects. One of the coolest things about them is that since they are created for Facebook primarily, they can still be enjoyed without even enabling the audio if you don't want to on Facebook for instance, because the message of the video is still being conveyed with text and sentences in the video's frames. This style of video developed from a style of video format called "Tasty" videos, which as you can imagine were made for quick, sped-up cooking tutorial videos. Which is another reason why this format is ideal for anything you want to convey at a potentially faster frame pace as is the case in a normal speed video. But, the applications and usages of this style of video is extremely vast. I like them because I can watch them and understand the content without having sound on on my computer, so I'm not disturbing anyone. So I think they were developed for a few reasons:
- To convey information at a faster pace than what is normal for videos, so people can potentially learn things faster than normal, which is really a cool aspect!
- They can be watched and understood regarding the meaning entirely in the Facebook newsfeed, without turning on the volume of the video in your newsfeed. Of course, you can enable the volume and enjoy them with music, or potentially voice overs.
- They can be used with your website visitor retargeting campaigns as another medium to create repeat traffic back to your website with something far more interesting and engaging than a typical static graphical ad. Which is a potentially more effective and interesting type of ad to use to bring repeat website visitors back to your website.
- Similarly, you can target new audiences all together, whomever are good targetable audiences for your website or company, with a video ad that conveys a large amount of great information and has a far higher click-through rate for the advertisements you are running through your Facebook and Instagram accounts, which invariably leads to a better ROI result for your company's ad campaigns.
