***For those of you reading both Newsletters, be warned that the one on Wednesday on The Future is Agile is a repeat of this launch announcement.***
The topic of Psychological Safety is -at long last- very present everywhere you look. Having spent the past few years living and breathing the concept, building software to measure it, researching, writing and thinking about it incessantly, it’s a joy to see the buzz it now enjoys.?
Unfortunately, with the buzz, some noise is to be expected. Meaning, we see some misinformed opinions, some misguided frameworks, and so on, but every word written to bring awareness that high performance in teams can not exist in a culture of fear is a net win.?
We are in a sense contributing to the noise ourselves if the amount written is a factor in measuring it as we have written over 400 articles on the topic of Psychological Safety either in the “Chasing Psychological Safety” newsletter or the “The Future is Agile” newsletter. Therefore, it was high time we took stock and created more clarity in particular as so many new people come to the concept and the realisation every day so they can use the definitions first.?
Calling on all the people-work practitioners, the team leaders, the coaches, the techies-come-HR superheroes, the people and engagement specialists, the learning and training gurus, the product owners, the transformation and change-makers and anyone else who resonated with the definition and need for Psychological Safety but arrived to the discourse being in full swing and focusing on nuances instead of fundamentals - here’s how to demystify it - read this new series.?
So for all of you who think you can use it -be it to learn more or to have what to send further to educate others-, please subscribe to the “Psychological Safety Back to Basics”/ “Psychological Safety Fundamentals” series which will be hosted here on the PeopleNotTech.com website and it is based on the structure in my “People Before Tech: The Importance of Psychological Safety and Teamwork in the Digital Age” book.?
It will publish every Thursday (while the articles here will continue to delve into the intricacies of the human work) and it will contain some of these titles:

Since we’re going back to basics and since we’re finding renewed purpose in establishing clarity we feel it’s also super important that we showcase Psychological Safety HumanDebt?-reducing work in action so we will soon start hosting some interviews on our YouTube channel to introduce you to the amazing work some of these visionary companies are doing so stay tuned for that and if you have an internal Superhero whom we should hear from, don’t hesitate to nominate them.?
We hope this helps, we all need help - we will have ceased needing it, when all teams will be fearless, happy, psychologically safe and performant and most importantly, empowered to become even more so through permission and tools.?
