THE NEW SAT IN A NUTSHELL! (Part 2)

SAT is a standardized test that is used by students to get an admission in the colleges or universities of the Unites Stated of America. It measures the skills and abilities of the students who wish to take further education in the country. In the year of 2016, SAT has been adjusted according to the aptitude of the students so that it can reflect their high school learning. The changes that has further refined SAT has been thoroughly discussed in the second part.

5. What are included in the SAT?

SAT makes us of words that regularly used in high-school and college. It is based on the utilization of evidence that is seen in the reading and writing section. When taking the SAT exam, you will analyze, synthesize, and interpret a data that has been garnered from various resources. The information presented in the data were presented in the form of graphics that include tables, charts and graphs. Other segments that are part of the SAT exam that you have to scrutinize or evaluate are multi-paragraph passages which belong to different subject matters such as literature, humanities, history, science and social studies.

6. How to analyze the parts of the SAT?

During the reading test, every passage or pair of passage that you will encounter will help you recognize the parts that supports the answer to the previous question. The way to answer a SAT exam is to connect the words and graphics together. Even the Writing Test, Language Test and SAT Essay makes use of evidence. You will be asked to examine a series of sentences and find the best answer for it. You have to interpret the graphics and edit the passages so that you can discern the information given in the visuals. You will also be asked to determine the process on which the author will support an argument by using reasoning, stylistic and persuasive materials.

7. What are the 3 essential parts of math in a SAT exam?

a. Problem Solving and Data Analysis

-         This section will entail you to use ratios, percentages and proportional reasoning to solve a number of problems in social science, science and in other subjects.

b. Algebra

-         This section will cover the mastery of linear equations and systems which will guide the students refine their knowledge on the powers of abstractions

c. Advanced Math

-         This section gives primary attention to complex equations and manipulations
