New Rules of Conduct on LinkedIn

  1. Dates you should celebrate publicly: first day at a new company, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.
  2. If you're changing jobs, on your last day at your old company, write a post about how grateful you are for everything in the world, list all your coworkers, how you respect everyone, and generally, this has been the best experience of your life. So far.
  3. On your first day at your new company, write a post about how eager you are to work, how excited you are to be with your new team. Don't be stingy with compliments.
  4. You should be eternally grateful for the chance to work for your company, especially if it's consulting. Never forget that and always mention it in your comments.
  5. If someone wrote a post about subservience at workplace, nepotism, or harassment, then write a comment saying that you're happy that this never happened at your company. Be sure to put a tag in front of your company name.
  6. Say happy birthday to all your colleagues in public. Especially the bosses. Especially the bosses of the bosses. So what if you've never spoken to them in person in your life.
  7. Publish a photo of all the gifts your company sends you. Your company is the best in the world, remember?
  8. Each of your posts gets extra points according to the following formula: +1 for veganism, +1 for free gender choice, +1 for mentioning a current trend, and so on. Try to get at least 10 points for each of your posts. Example: "this is my new exciting software, 100% vegan, lactose-free, non-GMO..."
  9. You can't have too many posts about team building. Absolutely everyone should know about this. No exceptions.
