Middle Leadership in Australian schools Spotlight
This Spotlight examines the role of a middle leader, common middle leadership practices, and the support middle leaders require to be successful in their role.
Middle leaders play a pivotal role in supporting teacher quality, teacher attitudes and student outcomes. The Spotlight highlights that there’s an opportunity to develop a national definition and set of standards that could strengthen role clarity and support middle leaders to be more effective in their roles.
This is why we’re happy to share that we recently partnered with the Queensland Department of Education on an 18-month project to develop and trial Professional Standards for Middle Leaders; drawing on stakeholder expertise to validate the work.

2 年It would seem to me an extraordinary experience as a teacher. I know that in Australia there are opportunities to grow as my professional. However, I would like to know what the support would be like for a professional with higher university degrees, age 56 and with experience for thirty years, both in elementary education and specialists in special education. Cheers!
