New report from the London Assembly advises future London Mayor that building outside Greater London will be required to meet the City's housing need

Interesting report published last week. The focus is understandably on factors constraining housing needs being met within Greater London and associated impacts.

The report also comments on the need to look beyond the GLA's boundaries (see Chapter 5). It highlights that the current London Plan's strategy means that a significant proportion of London's housing need (between 6 and 47 per cent) will have to be met outside of the capital.

Again, we see calls for "some form of "regional" policy" or "strategic plan" in the south east to direct growth.
