The classical Activity Wheel is a convenient and straightforward method for measuring rodent physical activity, widely used for research on?circadian rhythms, motor function, aging, energy balance, recovering and pain related exercise.
The new ANY-maze Activity Wheel adds sophistication to the traditional running wheel!
Provided with an encoding system to count rotation, the wheel reports rotations to a resolution of just over two degrees.
The ANY-maze Activity Wheel connects directly to a PC via USB, and is?fully integrated into ANY-maze.
Which means taking advantage of the data collection and test management capabilities of our powerful behavioral tracking software!
Do I need a specific ANY-maze license to run an Activity-Wheel session?
There is no need to consider a specific ANY-maze license to manage Activity-Wheels: if you already own a full licence or are considering ANY-maze for a wider set of behavioral tests, then the full license will be perfect.
But for Activity-Wheels only, the I/O only license will be the ideal option!
In either cases, you will be able to run up to 48 Wheels with a single ANY-maze license!
ANY-maze automatically configures the experiments and controls the experiment flow, data collection and statistical analysis!
The USB driver, necessary for communication between the software and the wheels, is a standard component of the ANY-maze system
