NEW Privacy Respect INDEX? whose respecting privacy across the UK plcs'

The Privacy Respect INDEX? (PRI) provides a ranking of all companies listed on the London Stock Exchange based on their level of respect for privacy online.  Headline results are set to be published on the 29th September and will be available either directly or through our partners.

The majority of companies want to comply with the GDPR but DPOs face a number of challenges including the conflicting interests of digital / marketing, and compliance departments, the increasing level of complexity of the technologies deployed by data aggregators and privacy software vendors making compliance promises that they are unable to deliver upon.

There is lots of evidence proving widespread non-compliance but to date there has been a lack of independent support for the DPO to provide them with visibility regarding their risk status or to track improvement over time.  The one constant for websites is change, so the DPO needs continuous monitoring to keep on top of this.

With enforcement now a reality, companies cannot afford to ignore GDPR regulations and DPAs across Europe are more likely to pursue the worst offenders, i.e., those languishing at the bottom of the PRI.
