The new powers of the Israeli Cyber-Array

The powers of the cyber system focus on protecting the proper functioning of cyberspace and preventing attacks, and inter alia, will be entitled to exercise broader powers insofar as there is a reasonable basis to assume that cyber attacks occur, An employee authorized by the Alignment shall be entitled to demand that an organization provide him with documents or computer materials required for the purpose of locating, coping or preventing an attack.

The ISRAC is authorized to instruct the organization to appoint a contact person who will receive instructions on its behalf, and may order the employees of the array to physically enter the organization and confiscate objects and computers if it assumes that they contain information of security value.

In the framework of dealing with an attack, an employee of the system may give instructions to the organization to implement a confidentiality obligation that prohibits the organization and its employees from disclosing the content of the instructions given to them to the public.

In order to activate some of the authority's powers, a Magistrate's Court order is required, but the head of the Apparatus is authorized to approve them even without the order, if necessary in urgent cases in order to prevent actual damage.
