This week Telegraph and Swing Strategies released new polling data on self-driving vehicles in California and AB 316. The poll, conducted by FM3 Research of 1,007 California voters likely to cast a ballot in November 2024, reveals voters overwhelmingly support (73%) of AB 316, which requires a human safety operator for vehicles over 10,000 lbs.?
Furthermore, across the electorates’ major demographic and geographic groups, the poll highlighted that a majority of voters are uncomfortable with self-driving cars at any weight.
Based on this polling, voters clearly want reasonable safety rules, and AB 316 is a good compromise that the industry, regulators, and elected leaders should support.?
