Clarifying questions:

  • Define Small Businesses – these are typically local mom and pop store type of businesses that heavily rely on online commerce to make sales as they may not have physical stores to set up and want to reach a broad audience by showing their wares on social media sites like FB or Instagram. – Is that accurate? – yes
  • When we say, ‘design IG for SMB’, do we want a separate app or just have a feature integrated into the current IG app? – You choose – I think it is better to have this as a feature in the main product itself because it is unlikely that users would want to switch or download an additional app just for shopping – there’s already amazon dedicated for that. – Is that ok? – sure … Read More and Give Feedback


#2. Estimate the number of Uber rides.

We begin by paraphrasing and asking the following clarifying questions:

  • Any specific segment or all segments within Uber?
  • Any specific geography?
  • What duration are we talking about?

Key Assumptions:

  • We are talking about cabs only. No premium segment.?
  • Geography is India (Urban segment)
  • Duration - 1 day

Total population of India = 140 Cr. Urban and Rural split - 30% & 70%. Assume 80% of urban are tech literate and have access to smart phones. (~34 Cr). Of these 18+ are 40% ~14 Cr. 50 % of these individuals use Uber - ~ 7 Cr.?

User segmentation:

  • 7 bookings per week - 20%
  • 3 bookings per week - 50%
  • 1 booking per week - 30%

#3. What metrics would you use to measure the success of the Save feature at Facebook?

My approach would be understanding the feature, the goals of the feature how it is helping the user and the company.?

I would understand the user journey, the hypothesis, and the assumptions and come up with quantifiable metrics.

The Feature:?

Save feature allows users to save the content inside their Facebook account in a private folder?and allows them to revisit the content through any device any number of times.

User Journey:?

User visits Facebook

The user scrolls and finds content they are?into

The user saves the post and continues through his session

The user comes in a later session

The user goes to the saved folder

The user picks the content of his choice and engages

Assumptions:?

Users need a?repository of their favorite videos

Users love the content they saved Users value?the folders they created

Users would require a private space for their favorite content
