The new Microsoft Planner for the web is available

We're excited to announce that the new Microsoft Planner for the web is now available for Targeted release tenants! If you're enrolled in Targeted release, you can start using the new Planner experience and sharing feedback with our team.

This is a big milestone in our continued rollout of the new #Planner, which we first announced at Microsoft Ignite last November and brought to users in Teams this past April. For more information on about the new Planner for the web, please review our Get ready for the new Microsoft Planner for the web blog post last month.

Multi-cloud backup solution for Microsoft and Google

Large organizations working in complex technical environments that could contain multiple SaaS platforms.

In such a scenario in one organization, there could be multiple Google and Microsoft environments that' need backup.

Branding your company's Teams meetings and calls with frosted glass effects

Microsoft #Teams continues to innovate, and one of the latest features to enhance your meetings and calls is the frosted glass background effect. This feature allows you to brand your company's Teams meetings and calls in a professional and visually appealing way. Every Teams user can manually upload individual frosted glass backgrounds. Teams Premium administrators can also upload frosted glass backgrounds for their organization and assign those backgrounds to different teams based on customization policies.

New Shifts cross location feature

We’re excited to introduce the cross-location shifts feature in Microsoft #Shifts app, designed to enhance flexibility and efficiency for both frontline managers and workers. Currently in public preview, this feature empowers businesses to better manage staffing across multiple locations while giving employees more control over their schedules.

New Low-Cost Log Options, Automation, AI & SIEM Migration

Streamline threat detection and response across diverse environments with Microsoft #Sentinel, your cloud-native #SIEM solution. With features like Auxiliary logs for low-cost storage and proactive data optimization recommendations, you can efficiently manage high volumes of security data without compromising on threat intelligence. Leverage built-in #AI and automation to uncover hidden threats and reduce investigation time from days to minutes.

Prepare for key end of support moments in 2025

One year from today, on October 14, 2025, support will end for all Office 2016 and 2019 suites, standalone apps, and servers.

What happens when a product reaches end of support?

After a product's support period ends, Microsoft no longer provides:

  • Security fixes for vulnerabilities that are discovered and that may make devices, apps, or servers more directly exposed to security breaches.
  • Bug fixes for issues that are discovered and that may impact the stability and usability of the product.
  • Technical support for problems that may occur.

Continuing to use products after their end of support can negatively impact organizational security, compliance, and productivity. Because migrations can take time, we recommend starting your upgrade to supported versions of these products as soon as possible.
