A new perspective is like having new pair of eyes

A new perspective is like having new pair of eyes

You know that all good teachers tell their students, “you are special”. If not explicitly, then by their actions. It is largely true. You are born a unique set of biological parents, and your life is specific to how you were raised. Everyone has a unique story. It happens that in a developed society, we need order. We need people good at certain jobs, or already dedicated to a purpose. When everybody is in the same volumes of society, then the beliefs and actions are easier to predict. This is good. Because revolutions, as world changing and advanced as they may be, come at a cost. The cost is to discard the past in favor of a better future. This spurs development. If not stabilized, it is too radical.

We all need a personal significance in life. Everyone needs a meaningful life. That is how you get up everyday to fulfill your purpose. It also makes the activities enjoyable and accomplished. But largely with respect to society, there are millions of such individuals. It requires people to make sacrifices and alignment with the common good. First, give yourself permission to be continuously curious. Second, read a lot and watch some movies - from all genres. Imagine yourself in the place of various characters in the books and movies. Imagine yourself in the role of Director or Set Designer. Third, get out and talk to people from many ages, races, religions, and points of view. Find out what makes each one unique.

Well, now, you are ready! Take some time to really examine your own perspectives, goals, dreams, and values. The exercise above will fore you to ask yourself why you hold certain points of view. As you examine your perspective, you will cling more closely to some points of view, and become more flexible in other areas. You can look at a special tree every day or every week, and follow it through the year/years see how it grows and changes through the seasons!

Now and then return to the tree in your memory, this time picturing it in time backwards, try to imagine how the big tree was once a younger tree and eventually grew out of its little seed! Then you might discover how your power of thinking becomes more alive, and possibly you get to see the world around you with new eyes! This is something I am working on all the time. Probabilities and causality are first and foremost in my mind usually. Not in the way you think though. I observe the world around me and I am acutely aware of the probability fields around me that define my world in the perspective I perceive.

I have a definite problem with the perception of linear time. In as much as I could be working on something and not notice that 10 hours have passed. This also leads me to forgetting to eat, bathe, use the bathroom, etc.My social skills are lacking in some regards due to the previous two points. Sometimes I am so macro focused on the world I miss things like body language and facial expressions. But, it doesn’t mean I cannot remember faces, on the contrary. I remember every face and name I come across.

On that subject of memory I can say I have a really a good one. IQ is just a measure of how quickly you can index and retrieve information with your brain. The problem with that is if you have a really good memory and a shaky ambition, it can get quite cluttered at times. Some people think that they would love to have a photographic memory, but in reality it’s not all that fun. I just wanna forget some mental imagery, is that so much to ask? Apparently so.

You’re good at a lot of things, even things you didn’t realize, and this can cause problems with people. Especially if you find you’re so good at something you make it look easy on the first try. It doesn’t happen often, but it does. It can piss people off.

You know a bunch about a bunch of things. Sometimes people don’t want to know that the whole of their existence is just a 3D shadow of a 4th dimensional object that we can only see in small slivers at a time as we perceive time “pass”.

Sometimes you can just be a right ass when you know something someone else does not.
