A new partnership ,China's nightmare??

AUKUS is a new trilateral security partnership. UK & US will help Australia acquire nuclear-powered submarines, pushing it to directly counter China.

Under this partnership, Australia will build eight nuclear-powered submarines in Adelaide. Over the next 18 months, the three countries will have consultations over the design, technology transfer, production timelines and training modules, among others.

Australian PM Scott Morrison said: “Our world is becoming more complex, especially here in our region, the Indo-Pacific. This affects us all. The future of the Indo-Pacific will impact all our futures.

The nuclear-powered submarines will give Australia a lot of naval heft in the Pacific, where China has been particularly aggressive. While the US and Britain have had the capability for decades, Australia has never had one.

In the context of the AUKUS agreement, nuclear-powered submarines will give the Royal Australian Navy the capability to go into the South China Sea, where China is increasingly getting aggressive by claiming the disputed territories. with this partnership Australia is making a move to protect its assets and conduct patrols even though this has not been spelt out by the three countries.

How ever INDIA is one of the six countries after USA, UK,China,France and Russia who has nuclear submarines in its arsenal. INDIA demonstrated the capability to launch nuclear weapons in 2018, the INS Arihant is now classified as a Strategic Strike Nuclear Submarine or SSBN, which means it is a nuclear-powered ballistic submarine. INS Arihant is important because it completes India’s nuclear triad, which means that the country has the capacity to launch nuclear missiles from land, aircraft, and submarine.

US President Joe Biden also said America will continue to work with ASEAN and the Quad, “as was stated earlier; our five treaty allies and other close partners in the Indo-Pacific; as well as allies and partners in Europe and around the world to maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific, and build a future of peace, opportunity for all the people of the region”.

Biden said, will address “the current strategic environment in the region and how it may evolve.?Because the future of each of our nations — and indeed the world — depends on a free and open Indo-Pacific enduring and flourishing in the decades ahead”.

But the news of new alliance china is completly rattled .Slamming the three countries, Beijing?said?they should “shake off their Cold War mentality and ideological prejudice”, and that this “irresponsible” move will intensify the arms race and that this partnership will be “damaging regional peace and stability”, and that neighbours of Australia should question its sincerity.

This pact, has also upset France as it failed to secure a 50-billion-euro deal with Australia for building 12 Attack-class submarines. France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the AUKUS was a “stab in the back”.France also said it will “need clarifications” since this was an inter-governmental deal that was signed with Australia in 2019.

With these new developments it looks world is finally preparing to confront china's aggressive and bullying behaviour in the only way china can understand . With the alliance like QUAD, AUKUS itseems there is going to be unstable nature in coming days.
