Exciting news for Utah's veteran community! We’re proud to announce our partnership between Utah Veteran Business Resource Center and Comcast .
?According to Forbes.com, “Despite veterans being 45% more likely to start a business than nonveterans, veteran-owned businesses accounted for only 5.9% of U.S. businesses in 2018.”
?We’re to changing that by providing veteran entrepreneurs with the tools they need to start and grow their businesses.
?Our nation's veterans are experienced, disciplined and highly skilled, making them natural entrepreneurs. Many, however, face challenges transitioning back to civilian life and may not have access to the right resources or networks on the path to becoming a veteran business owner.
?Comcast will support several initiatives at the center, including the STRIVE program - Startup Training Resources Inspiring Veteran Entrepreneurship, a free entrepreneurship training program run through a partnership with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families - IVMF at Syracuse University in Buffalo, New York.
? Richard Brown , Utah VBRC program director, believes that this partnership will bring much-needed attention to the STRIVE program and boost the number of veteran entrepreneurs participating. The Utah VBRC defines veterans as those who are active duty, veteran, reserve, guard, retired, and military spouses. Enrollment is now open for the next regular STRIVE course that begins on 5 September 2023.
?Comcast will also provide vital technology to support hybrid classrooms across Utah, from St. George to Logan. In collaboration with the Utah VBRC, Comcast is launching innovation hubs in central locations, enabling veterans to meet and learn about building businesses together.

?Additionally, the partnership will introduce a women-only veterans entrepreneurship STRIVE course starting on 7 September 2023, further empowering our veteran community.
?As support for our programs increases, we can reach more veterans and empower them to build lasting economic futures. With Comcast’s support, the Utah VBRC is better positioned to serve our veterans and the minority groups within our veteran community.
?Together, let's celebrate this new partnership and the incredible opportunities it will bring to Utah's veterans!
