One of the things that will probably change in the future is what people want when purchasing a new home after lockdown. A combination of spending alot more time at home during the last couple of months and the good weather that we have been blessed with has given homeowners the opportunity to spend more time outside in there outdoor spaces and adapt their lifestyles.
People will have enjoyed this and with the liklehood that alot more people are likely to work from home for at least some of the time there will be a need for extra space in their existing homes. This isnt always easy to find and alot of people will not have the funds or inclination in having a full extention built.
Therefore for estate agents dealing with the sales of these properties there is a real opportunity to get the prospective purchasers to look at ways of increasing the opportunities of using the external space available the houses they are viewing to increase the overall living or socializing area as well as being more practical.
For years the size of the plots on new build developments has been squeezed in order to get as many units on a new site as possible and compared to older houses the amount of room is limited.
Very often if there is a garage on the property it doubles up as a utility room and the cars are not parked in them anyway but this is not always the case and a garage isnt a bad option for the white goods if the kitchens are small.
So by encouraging them to think about installing outdoor covered solutions such as Garden Canopies, Verandas, Glass rooms and Carports to their propective properties as a way of increasing living space it may be the difference between them saying it's too small to purchase.
As we touched on at the beginning the weather has luckily been very good over the last 2 months but what if it had been cold and raining, then more than likely most people would have been stuck inside.
Occasionally when we are discussing with people about external covered areas there is a percieved belief that they will only be used for a few months of the year, normally in the summer, but in the case of Garden Canopies this simply isnt the case as we provide a fantastic range of products to accompany our portfolio of products, such as heating , lighting and sound options which means you can enjoy the area all year round.
More recently there has been a move by lots of people having bi-fold doors installed to bring the outside in and the addition of a Patio canopy or Veranda will increase the use and make this even more practical.
We have also seen a recent trend of people wanting outdoor kitchens also and within our range we have a number of systems that lend themselves perfectly to this.
We enjoy being involved with the client at the early stages of their thought process and we can use our knowledge and experience to help create a fantastic area for them to help them embrace an Alfresco lifestyle.
