New Opportunities

Happy New Year!

I hope this finds you well and off to a great start in 2024!

Now that the holiday season is behind us, it's time to rest, recharge and reflect. And when I say 'reflect' I mean to go back over the last year and really take stock of the things that went great and those that weren't so great. What did you learn from all of those experiences? How has it changed you? What would you differently? (journal prompts!)

Every day is an opportunity to start over. Yes, the new year brings a fresh meaning and cultivates new hope around the world, but at the end of the day, the mind is always capable of creating change no matter what day it is. Opportunities are always among us, it's our responsibility to recognize them and bring them into fruition. The question is, "How bad do you want it/them?"

I trust that you have some great ideas and goals in mind for 2024. YES!! Keep them in sight at all times! However, I encourage you to begin slowly and take small steps towards your goals. It's really easy to continue to focus on the BIG picture, but every goal takes work. This is where we sometimes fall back and get discouraged, because the work doesn't always go as smoothly as we thought it would. We hinder at the slightest threat of resistance and sometimes give up altogether when we're faced with obstacles.

With that said, we have to question our desires once again, "Is this what I truly want?" Many times we think we know what we want but it's really what our parents want for us, or what we think our peers and society expect of us. It's not easy to move out from those ideals and truly listen to your intuition and go after what's in YOUR heart. This is the work I'm talking about.

Letting go of the should's and replacing them with what makes you happy. This can be extremely difficult for many of us. I know it was for me and still is in many respects. We have to continue the practice of trusting our gut and making the decisions that are in our best interest. Easier said than done, yes, I know. However, we have the opportunity to start over with each new day. Be patient with yourself and give yourself grace when things fall out of your vision. Think of these experiences as challenges, they show up to give you the chance to learn and strengthen your awareness. This is your opportunity to evolve and show up more powerfully and authentic.

Perhaps this is something that you need to work on in 2024? Giving yourself the space to 'let go' and release the guilt, fears, etc... so that you can begin to create whatever it is you desire.

Make this year, the year of change! Not just to the world around you, but in a bigger and more powerful way, from within.

You deserve it all, my friend!
