A New Operating system for Health Care

Recently 德勤 and 甲骨文 published a White Paper titled: "The Future of Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" brought to you by MIT Technology Review.

The White Paper discusses the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the future of Healthcare. AI is a rapidly developing technology that has the potential to automate many Healthcare-related tasks that are currently performed by humans. This could lead to evolution of new operating system for Healthcare.

谷歌 has demonstrated the potential of “anticipatory medicine” with the use of an AI-powered app to predict kidney failure. Physicians can be alerted as soon as their hospital patients get a test result showing high creatinine—a sign of failing kidneys. This can cut diagnosis time from hours to minutes.

Reimagining health care

Universal interoperability and data access have the potential to improve health care to the point where it’s unrecognizable to today’s patients. Here are just a few changes we can expect:

Anticipatory medicine: Analyzing data on millions of patients may allow us to predict the trajectory of a person’s health at any point—even from birth, in some cases

Population health: Your health is about more than just medical care—it’s about whether there’s a grocery store nearby, how safe your neighborhood is, and what’s in the air you’re breathing. A

Remote monitoring: Connected gadgets (IoT) will provide valuable data streams that help in ways both subtle and dramatic. It can often be challenging for people to determine whether they’re having a heart attack or a panic attack, but timely capture of data can assist in this process.

Genomics for everyone: The cost of sequencing a human genome has dipped below $1,000. Inexpensive data storage and rapid processing such as in the 甲骨文 Cloud (OCI) may eventually make it economically feasible to sequence everyone’s genome: “Everyone will get their genome done at birth.”

Smartwatches may become useful part of this healthcare ecosystem and collect useful patient data for timely diagnosis. “Health care at its core is people caring for people, and we want to arm them with the technology that allows them to do that better.” David Feinberg, MD, chairman of Oracle Health.
