New OEM GIS Hub Site is Live
Daniel Stoelb
GIS Program Coordinator at State of Oregon, Department of Emergency Management
Just released today a brand new Hub site that features our #gis apps and data sets we use for monitoring current status of events within Oregon!
This idea sprang from attending the recent #NAPSG #InSPIRE conference this year - where I received a brief demonstration about the new Hub for ArcGIS Product. I realized that this product could really be of benefit to us as our existing applications were not categorized or displayed in an easy-to-read or understand format. By organizing the content in this way, we are now able to easily connect with key points/messages we want to get across to the general public as well as provide more technical users with the ability to pull down public-facing services into their own applications for use in emergency management.
For those interested, this new website includes the following in an easy-to-read format:
- Incident statistic data about current natural hazards in our state,
- Views of the 2D and 3D version of RAPTOR and our leadership briefing product (which includes details by hazard of current impacts),
- Links to our disaster story maps,
- Links to success stories using GIS for real-world events,
- Mapping related videos (from our weekly watch products and other informational videos), and
- Links to explore hazard data to add it to your own mapping applications.
