New newscast, new issue out and new Best of Reykjavík 2022!

Hello dear readers,

A new week and we have a brand new newscast for you from sunny Reykjavík! We are finally getting a piece of (Indian) summer here in the capital region. The sun is shining and outdoor seating in restaurants are packed. We have a new issue out as well since Friday you can pick up or order online.

A late summer sure beats no summer so we won't complain. Sizzling 14°C (57°F) heat and Icelanders are tearing their clothes off and wiping the dust off their?sunglasses?they have had no use for since early spring.

For you volcano people out there we might add there was an earthquake on Monday night that originated very close to the crater in Meradalir. There is lava on the move down there no doubt but its not breaching the surface yet (nor is there any indication it necessarily will).?

We will follow closely of course and keep you updated should the status change.
