A New Leader Emerges as the Most Populous Country in the World
?? Think you know the most populous countries in the world?
According to UN experts' predictions, India's population of 1.412 billion last year is set to surpass China's population of 1.41175 billion this year. 2022 marked China's first population decline since 1961 (declined by 850k).
This milestone brings both challenges and opportunities for India.?Increasing economic growth and job creation, increasing women's participation in the workforce by promoting equality and fair pay (is vital - see video clip), diversifying the economy, leveraging innovation and technology, and addressing overpopulation through access to healthcare and education are key steps in meeting the needs of this growing population.
India has implemented initiatives such as Make in India, Skill India, and Startup India, which have made progress but more needs to be done to ensure a sustainable future. The country is also opening its borders to attract more companies and building secondary cities to make it easier to do business.
I was live on CNN Newsroom with John Vause discussing the above, and we?delved into China's slowing population growth numbers, the economies of India and China, and the importance of job creation for the growing youth population...India is among the youngest countries, with 27% between the ages of 15 and 29.
Definitely has an impact on the global economy moving forward.

Staying Ahead of the Curve: Banking Industry's Ongoing Challenge to Meet Customer Expectations
??"Ryan is Curious" Poll - ?? industry
??Which bank do you consider the best?
????Love to hear your thoughts in the comment section!
The banking industry has come a long way in terms of technology and innovation, but there's still room for improvement when it comes to providing top-notch service to clients. In today's fast-paced world, customers expect more than just basic banking services. They want a personalized and seamless banking experience that caters to their unique needs and preferences.
A recent Wall Street Journal article discussed how many customers, particularly those who are wealthy, have been withdrawing money from banks that offer low-interest savings rates. It suggests that the products offered by a bank are still important, regardless of the relationship a customer may have with the institution... many members chimed in on the Full Post ----> Here

Will the Electric Vehicle Revolution Reach New Heights or Stall Out?
"Ryan is Curious" Poll - ?Electric Vehicle Market
??EVs are becoming more and more popular, and it seems the trend is only going to continue. According to the Wall Street Journal, EVs made up 10% of all new cars sold last year, marking a significant increase from previous years. Below are a few highlights from the WSJ article:
"Global sales of fully electric vehicles totaled around 7.8 million units, an increase of as much as 68% from the previous year, according to preliminary research from?LMC Automotive, a GlobalData Company?and?EV-volumes.com, research groups that track automotive sales."
"The U.S. lags behind China and Europe in the rollout of EVs, but last year automakers sold 807,180 fully electric vehicles in the U.S., a rise in the share of all-electric vehicles to 5.8% of all vehicles sold from 3.2% the year before. Tesla is still the world’s dominant EV maker, but conventional automakers are shortening its lead with new electric-model launches."
"New-car sales overall fell around 1% to 80.6 million vehicles, according to the LMC data, with nearly 4% growth in China helping to offset a decline of 8% in the U.S. and 7% in?Europe, which was hit?by the weakening global economy, soaring energy costs, supply-chain disruptions and the war in Ukraine."
Tesla plans to be more aggressive in the market this year, including significant price cuts. It will be interesting to see how other companies respond to this move
What do you think the future holds for the EV market? Will the demand decrease this year with the economy potentially slowing down, or will it continue to soar?

Federal Reserve Boosts Rates by a Quarter Point: What It Means for the Economy
?? I was live last week on?CNN?Newsroom to break down (and translate) the Federal Reserve's announcement of a 25 basis point increase in interest rates. Although this move was expected, it's not yet time to relax. Fed Chair Jerome Powell has emphasized the risk of doing too little and the possibility of inflation rearing its head in the next 6-12 months.
What does this mean for you?
There are many questions surrounding this announcement, including the risk of doing too much, the number of future interest rate hikes, and when they will occur. Despite the slowdown in growth, the labor market remains strong with a 50-year low unemployment rate, high job vacancies, and elevated wage growth. However, inflation remains well above the Fed's target of 2%.
????I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below on the Fed's moves and what you expect to see in the economy over the next three months.

2 年It’s interesting I hadn’t thought about the fact that china’s population growth being exponential (on be upward curve) in the 80’s and 90’s could mean the converse is also true. Exponential decline based on the same curve pointed downward; even more impactful when compounded with aging and dying elderly or large swaths of people who are elderly where they don’t have social accommodations ????♀?????♀???
