??New in MK.IO?? - SRT Ingest!
It's been a while since I last talked to you about MK.IO, our SaaS video solution - and it's not because of a lack of new features!
I'd like to focus on one now. Live signal ingestion with SRT. SRT is an open transport protocol that allows broadcast-quality multimedia content to be transported with low latency and reliably and securely over the non-management networks like Internet or 5G. It's an alternative to the legacy approach, which relied on dedicated satellite or dedicated fiber links to connect locations with centralized production workflows.
It's already a standard among companies in the broadcast and media sector. In addition, it's agnostic to the content codec (video and audio), meaning it can transport H.264, HEVC, VVC with SDR or HDR dynamic ranges or 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, to name a few examples.
It's a versatile and powerful way to send live streams between two points on the Internet and complements the veteran and limited RTMP and RTMPs protocols (also available in MK.IO).
How to use it in MK.IO ? Easy as always:
Create a Live event and choose one of the encoding types. Then choose SRT and fill in the SRT access token with your password for the connection. Fill in the other fields as usual and create it.

Next, go to your new live event and you will see in the Input URL box the SRT URL that you can use to feed your live event. That's all, ready to use SRT for your live!
As always, pay-as-you-go, no strings attached… no limits! ??
Experience pure SaaS for your video streams with MK.IO.
