New Miami River Yacht Club Planned

In March 2015, the Miami River Commission's Urban Infill & Greenways Subcommittee approved plans for a condo/boat slip project along the Miami River. At that time, developers Brisas Del Rio, headed up by Miami Beach developer Homero Meruelo, put forth a concept that included 14 large boat slips and 14 living quarters. Since then, the market and demand have changed, and so too have the plans for the project, Sea Vault. 

"With the 14 slips, the pricing and the number of vessels out there was difficult," Meruelo claimed. "The market is much larger for smaller vessels than what we had planned. We were looking at 200-foot vessels. Now we are looking at 100-foot vessels."
