Possible New MH370 Clue Emerges

A retired Australian fisherman, Kit Olver, asserts he discovered what he believes is a wing from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished in 2014 with 227 passengers and 12 crew members, off the coast of South Australia. Olver claims the significant find occurred in 2014, a few months after the aircraft's disappearance, during a deep-sea trawling operation approximately 55km west of Robe, South Australia. Despite reporting the unusual find to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, who reportedly dismissed it as debris from a shipping container, Olver has recently come forward, offering coordinates of the discovery, hoping to aid the ongoing mystery surrounding the vanished flight. Fatal Incident at Lake Lanier Islands Resort

A single-engine Beechcraft G36 Bonanza, registered as N23VS, encountered a fatal crash at Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, Georgia, resulting in the death of the 60-year-old pilot, Howard Lee Joe of Dunwoody. The accident occurred approximately at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, with the aircraft embarking and intended to return to Atlanta-DeKalb Peachtree Airport. Despite quick response, the plane was consumed by fire, leading to total destruction and no reported injuries on the ground. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have initiated a thorough investigation into the crash to determine contributing factors, with initial data sourced from FlightAware indicating the flight lasted mere minutes before the incident. The community and aviation authorities await further details as the investigation unfolds. Click image above for reading the full Atlanta News First article!

EASA/FAA Set Criteria for Alternative Aviation Software/Hardware Authorization

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced a collaborative effort to authorize alternative development assurance standards for aviation software and airborne electronic hardware, aiming to integrate best practices from industries like automotive. This initiative, outlined in a recently published paper, is a result of the EASA/FAA Task Force formed in June 2019, which sought to maintain aviation's high safety standards while embracing emerging technologies through an "Abstraction Layer." The 20 criteria defined will assess alternate standards and methodologies, fostering innovation without compromising the established safety and development assurance practices of the aviation industry.
