New Meeco Sullivan Docks Installed at Dover Bay Resort, Idaho

Installation of the new ‘E’ Dock with 50 new Meeco Sullivan galvanized steel frame slips at the Dover Bay Resort Marina was completed this past spring on Lake Pend Oreille in northern Idaho.

‘E’ Dock, consisting of new 12’x26’ and 12’x28’ slips, is the 5th complete Meeco dock system engineered and manufactured for the Dover Bay Marina over the past 7 years. Meeco Sullivan has been involved with the project from its inception, which has also included the design, build, and delivery of ADA gangways and more than 1,500 feet of heavy-duty double wave wall attenuator walkway docks enclosing and protecting the marina from the busy boat traffic and sometimes harsh environment.

The complete dock system was manufactured in McAlester, OK and shipped to the marina location in late March, arriving on site in a typical late winter Idaho snow storm. The Meeco docks were preassembled at the factory in large sections for easy final installation on the water with the brush finished concrete decking shipped separately for installation on site. APEX Construction handled the complete installation process, including 14 new steel pilings for the dock anchoring, and the installation of custom tarp steel frames and seasonal covers for the docks.

“The project came together very smoothly,” said J Mills, Meeco Sullivan’s Western Region Sales Manager. “Pend Oreille is a beautiful lake, and the new docks with their bright blue covers really make this marina stand-out.”

The new slips have all been rented this summer by enthusiastic boaters, which is following the current trend in growing demand for new marina facilities and expanding recreational activity across the country.
