The second edition of the Luxury GLAM night 2019 was a huge success, showing the capability of SKEMA to attract leading professionals, alumni, journalists, influencers and experts in the luxury industry to the first palace H?tel Le Meurice in Paris. 170 guests attended this prestigious event including over 100 representatives from 75 different luxury companies such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, L’Oréal Luxe, Saint Laurent, Estée Lauder Companies and many more. 73% of all professionals were SKEMA Alumni. It was a big privilege for the 47 GLAM students, the prestigious dual master’s degree in Global Luxury and Management, to assist and network. The topic of this year’s Luxury GLAM night was “New Luxury, New Values”.

Dr. Michaela Merk, the Director of the GLAM program moderated the evening allowing top experts, industry leaders and influencers to discuss “Luxury Luxury – New Values”. In her opening speech, she showed how the GLAM program had been modified in order to prepare students the best possible to the new values and challenges the luxury industry. She then invited Damien Roux on stage, Corporate Marketing & Communications Director of SKEMA Business School, who explained “The New Values of SKEMA” and announced the latest achievements of the school.
Stephane Truchi, president of IFOP, revealed the new emerging luxury values and trends in a disoriented society. The biggest transversal values across all major luxury markets remain excellence and exclusivity, which are among the most fundamental values in luxury history.

Next panel: ‘The secret of sharing and transmitting company values and expertise to the next generation’. Applauses for Brunot Pillard, the president of Champagne Group Lanson BCC, and his daughter Alice Paillard-Brabant, deputy general manager of Champagne House Bruno Paillard and member of the board of Champagne Group Lanson BCC. They shared the history behind this family based luxury champagne group and how they maintain continuity across generations by successfully transmitting their family values Mr. Paillard reveals the secret of their success: “You only do well what you love”.

The final panel brought on stage Anthony Ledru, Executive Vice President at Louis Vuitton, Top Luxury Influncer @SabTheFrenchWay, Jonathan Siboni, CEO of Luxurynsight and Elisa Niemtzow, managing director and sustainability expert of BSR - Business for Social Responsibility (& ex Chanel). They confronted their vision on the new luxury values looking at changing client expectations, new company strategies, organizational changes and future evolutions. One aspect became clear: only those luxury companies will succeed that dare the difference and break the box through audacity and disruption.

The inspiring evening was rounded up with a delicious networking cocktail signed Alain Ducasse. The selected champagne for the night was the special edition of Tsarine Champagne of Chanoine Frères signed Adriana Karembeux, one of the seven champagne houses of Lanson BCC.
