New luxury train ‘Ella Odyssey’ to run from Colombo to Badulla on weekends

Aug 11, Colombo: Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, has instructed the Department of Railways to operate an inter-city super luxurious train between Colombo and Badulla starting Saturday of this weekend.
Badulla is considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in the entire country.
According to this, the super-luxury train "Ella Odyssey" will depart Colombo Fort at 5.30 am on Saturdays and reach Badulla at 3.55 pm.
The train will stop at Gampaha and Veyangoda stations.
Every Sunday, the train leaves Badulla at 09:50 and arrives in Colombo at 07:20.
The train will stop at several interesting spots along the way, including Elgin Falls and Great Western Railway Station, Elgin Falls and Pattipola Summit Level.
