LinkedIn is adding a podcast feature and bringing some of its highest-value creators along for the ride.
“Wait…LinkedIn has creators?”
It does! LinkedIn actually has?a pretty strong creator core?of valuable business experts (and some grifters but that comes with any social media platform).
At launch, planned LinkedIn podcasts will include about a dozen shows from industry creators such as Morra Aarons-Mele, Jonathan Fields, Mita Mallick, and Dee C. Marshall, as well as shows created in-house by LinkedIn News.
LinkedIn is hopping onto podcasts at the opportune moment. 116 million Americans tune in to podcasts monthly, and the medium has a projected revenue of over $2 billion by 2023.
This is Big Social Media’s (which includes your Facebook, your Instagram) first foray into downright podcasting features. Audio rooms had a bit of a moment in 2021, but have since petered out. Sorry, Clubhouse.
