About Shirokane Kochuan
Kochuan, a Japanese-style restaurant located in the Japanese garden of Happo-en, was once the private residence of industrialist Fusanosuke Kuhara until 1950. Originally called the "Nihonkan" (Japanese-style house), it was renamed "Tsuchu-an" in 1994 by the writer Shusaku Endo, who visited the area as a young man, in reference to the Chinese legend "Tien in a pot". Every room offers a beautiful seasonal view of the garden, and you can enjoy a supreme experience of traditional Japanese cuisine that captures the seasonal flavors in a space that is quiet and full of nature, history, and tradition, as if you are cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city.
