After 2 brain surgeries, 25 years + of dealing with Transverse Myelitis (nerve damage from the waste down), the loss of my wife, Melanie, of 32 years to breast cancer, life seemed a little small and overwhelming.
Yet, faith and character got me through - barely! I never lost my faith, but came close a few times to losing my mind. Funny thing about faith and character: IF you work on it consistently, it will be there when you need it the most in life's difficult seasons. It helps you dig deep and find the courage to overcome.
Recently, I had to get prescription glasses. My feet got bigger. My hands got bigger. My car turned into an SUV. My food got bigger! A banana looked so BIG I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish it!
But, the small world that I was living in also got a bit bigger. So. when the world seems small from time to time, I just put on my glasses and remember - things can get bigger and better when looking through the right lenses.
