New Legacy Committee in Brisbane

Right on time - a new Olympic Legacy Committee about to be created here in Brisbane as part of the Olympic hosting. Going to very interesting to see if this group can do something that no organising committee in history has ever done. The use of the word 'Legacy' is always used as part of the argument to host these tournaments but always ends up as just another trough around which the ruling classes and bureaucracy sit and eat. I had thought about sending in ideas on creating the world's best Coaching and Coach Development strategy. That idea was tried 8 months ago with the new version of the Queensland Academy of Sport being created. I sent in overview documents and ideas about this type of investment to both the QAS and State government but not a glimmer of a response. They did spend over $million/year on 4 or 5 new bureaucrats though. If you get the chance to get on this new Legacy thingy then please let us all know what goes on.
