A New Journey: Winning as a team at ServiceNow
As I start my journey as the Global Chief People Officer at ServiceNow, I feel an extraordinary sense of excitement for the opportunity ahead.
First, I want to share my deep gratitude for my friends at WPP. They have risen to every challenge in the past few years with resilience, empathy, and compassion. I feel lucky for the bonds we formed and proud of the inclusive culture we fostered.
Now I am embracing a new mission at ServiceNow, the defining enterprise software company of the 21st century – a place where the team is building something remarkable.
Wherever my career has taken me, I have tried to apply a simple philosophy: grow yourself, grow your team, and grow your business. As a chief people officer who has helped global organizations transform, it thrills me to see a company positioned for growth like ServiceNow.
In fact, this company is growing so fast and strong that it feels like I’m boarding a rocket ship.
When I first spoke with ServiceNow CEO, Bill McDermott, about leading talent strategy here, I realized ServiceNow’s track record of success and the potential for the future. This is a company that delivers digital transformation, simplifies the complex, and makes the world of work, work better for people. It is the undisputed leader in delivering intuitive employee and customer experiences.
From Accenture to Walmart to WPP, I have seen many ways in which companies can bring together digital solutions and human skills, all to improve lives. ServiceNow is right at that intersection of digital and human. At a broad level, my goal is to align our people strategy to our business strategy to attract, retain, and grow the talent we need to deliver the best solutions for our employees and customers.

The best way to do that is to focus first on listening and learning. I am talking with our people, customers, and experts worldwide about how our People Team can best support the tremendous growth of our global workforce. I want us to design – together – a strategy that will help us grow in the smartest way.
Leaders across industries continue to navigate this pivotal time defined by transformation: the ongoing global pandemic, the reckoning for racial justice, and a world that is moving ever faster. Leaders also need to make key decisions about how their workplaces will serve their people in the future, and how they will create more fulfilling experiences for employees.
I want to help ServiceNow stay right at the edge of this transformational change for our own global workforce. Beyond our company, I also want to help our customers make life better for their employees and become places where people love to work. This starts with the power of the Now Platform and our employee workflow products to help companies confidently embrace the hybrid world of work now and in the future. It has never been more important to find new ways to connect people with a common purpose, and that is what we want to do for our customers.
I strongly believe that fostering an inclusive culture is the future of work. To attract, retain and grow the best talent, leaders must weave diversity, inclusion, and belonging into everything we do. In my role at ServiceNow, that means building on a culture in which all our people feel that sense of belonging: not just that they feel safe and welcome, but also celebrated and cherished.
The people at ServiceNow have created that kind of foundation, a culture of winning as a team. Sharing a sense of belonging is, and will always be, core to who we are. Nothing is more important to me.
One of my favorite ServiceNow values is, “Stay hungry and humble.” That is exactly what I will try to do every day. I look forward to helping our people grow themselves, their teams, and their business.
