New job as SVP Global Perspectives at CGI

New job as SVP Global Perspectives at CGI

I am glad to announce that I have joined CGI in the newly created role of Senior Vice-President Global Perspectives.

Co-founded by Serge Godin in 1976, CGI is one of the world’s largest and best IT and business consulting firms with 92,500 employees, clients in 40 countries, and more than CA$14.6 billion in annual revenue. It is a publicly listed and family-controlled multinational headquartered in Montreal. (learn more)

I had heard about CGI’s ambitions, unique technologies and IP, highly committed CGI Partners (88% of employees are shareholders) and satisfied customers. After three decades working with Fortune 100 companies and their amazing, world-class leaders, I am so far quite impressed by CGI’s strong culture and capabilities.

Serge Godin is a visionary entrepreneur whose determination and discipline have been both remarkable and rightfully rewarded. I had met him on a few occasions since 1998, and each time noticed his relentless “search for excellence” which has inspired countless IT firm owners, professionals, and digital transformation clients to follow him. Julie Godin, CGI’s Co-Chair and EVP Strategic Planning and Corporate Development, has been a CGI executive for 15 years and shares her father’s commitment to creating long-term value. ?Julie and Serge have invited me to integrate their corporate services team to explore strategies that will future-proof CGI’s competitiveness and enhance its resiliency.

As head of Global Perspectives, my mission is to help CGI navigate external shifts — economic, political, technological, social, and environmental. By integrating insights and foresight from clients, colleagues, and the broader ecosystem, I aim to develop forward-looking recommendations to guide the company through its macro transitions. An initial objective will be to use telescopic and periscopic views to better sense and foresee those trends that are forcing multi-level and interactive system changes everywhere. Big changes that are driving demand for more and better technology solutions that drive more and better prosperity, sustainability and responsibility.

Of course, there is a lot I need to learn at CGI before “future mapping” anything. Right now, I am a student of a global organization and its leaders, clients, markets and external partners. Several of my colleagues have shared their welcome and experience with authenticity and amicability, and my onboarding program is both motivating and enriching. A special thanks to Francois Boulanger , Stephane Bedard , Susan Balding , Steven Starace , Michael Keating , Steve Perron and Pierre-Dominique Martin for their warm welcome and support.

Sometimes to do more and better "big change thinking" and drive more and better "long-term actions", you impose a big change to your own career. Partnering with a global change agent like CGI ?is a promising move for me, filled with new resources, scale and potential to maximize my experience, my skills and also my chances to make a difference for the long-term.
