New Jersey Legalizes Hemp with the USDA

Just a few weeks ago, New Jersey was approved by the #USDA - United States Department of Agriculture, one of the largest federal agencies in the country, to grow, process and sell #Hemp primarily for #CBD products. Hemp for CBD is still looking to probably be the biggest cash crop in human history and a main contributor to a $30Bn market forecast in the United States.
No, hemp is not legal in all 50 states. Hemp was deregulated by the #TrumpAdministration in 2018 from enforcement, however every state had to have their own "pilot program" or one could not grow, process or handle hemp in that state. New Jersey, did not have a program until mid January 2020 and is now the 3rd state to be federally recognized to have a legal, national and international hemp program.
This is important, because 40 other states and nearly 17,000 hemp farmers and their investors jumped the gun over the last few years where an unfortunate 90% of those farm/companies are either out of business or hanging on by a thread to stay alive.
Why? What happened? You know ".. Build It and They will Come.." ? yeah, well that's Hollywood utopian thinking.. after its grown, it has to be processed and then sold as CBD to see 1,000%+ profit margins. In my opinion, there's also been too much #marijuana talk making it both difficult to regulate, confusing for customers and thus to sell with #FDA and healthcare interaction concerns. Simply, we grew too much hemp and could not sell it as CBD, because it wasn’t 100% legal across the country.
So then why is this good news for farmers in New Jersey? Well, for one, NJ has not been a great state for farming lately. The East Coast gets slammed with extreme weather making it difficult to forecast crop health. New Jersey is too small geographically, too crowded and land is too expensive for traditional large acreage crops like #soybeans. Further, with CBD still not clear on how to regulate federally, New Jersey didn't have a program, we waited to get it right and now we are one of the #first !
Think of this: New Jersey is a 10th the size as #Colorado 10,000 square miles vs 100,0000, CO has thousands of hemp farming CBD producers and only half the population as New Jersey who has 9,000,000 people and 3,000,000 pets where CBD can serve them all, especially since it is NOT #psychoactive,
New Jersey is the pharmaceutical capital of the world, it borders New York the medical, drug abuse and international trade capital of the world. CBD from #NewJerseyHemp can potentially replace many toxic pharmaceuticals even over the counter pain meds like Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, #NASAIDs used to treat almost everyone with #inflammation and pain while lowering healthcare costs!
Even illegal pain meds, like #fentanyl have less chance of creating addiction and death with a guided CBD regimen in the picture. Forget about marijuana, medically or financially.. its already available and does little for New Jersey’s drug addiction and death problem as thousands continue to get addicted and die at alarming rates, its now time for CBD. The bottom line is, you can't expect someone who wants to get high from meds, or drugs to no longer being addicted by getting high from marijuana.
CBD on the other, calms nerves, anxiety, stress, depression, helps with pain and sleep providing #homeostasis all things one needs to battle and recover from addiction, even to cigarettes, alcohol and unhealthy stress eating.
"... CBD, it doesn't get you high, it gets you healthy.."
More to come, but in short for a few hundred dollars you can be a hemp farmer, processor or handler in New Jersey. But be careful, just because you grow it or have it, doesn’t mean they’ll come.
CBD is a hard sale because it crosses a Western and Eastern style of medicine. It requires a strong medical, biological, health and wellness aptitude. There are plenty of people of all ages in pain, mentally, physically and emotionally, CBD can help naturally for those ages 1-100 as the FDA has shown with its 2018 approval of CBD by GW Pharma for babies with two rare forms of Epilepsy,
