New Integrated Sports & Entertainment Landmark

Kai Tak Sports Park, the new sporting home of Hong Kong, is set to redefine the sports landscape with its world class facilities. At the end of 2018, Hip Hing was appointed as the design and build contractor, responsible for the design, procurement, fabrication and construction.

Hip Hing Managing Director Mr Chu Tat Chi shared that Hip Hing started to draft the construction plan for the Sports Park in early 2019. The success and the completion of Kai Tak Sports Park is a significant milestone for the Company and the parties getting involved.

The project’s scale and complexity has challenged us to push boundaries, innovate and exceed expectations at every turn in the past few years, especially in the period of COVID 19 outbreak. ?

Building this international sports and mega events landmark which defines Hong Kong was never an easy task. During the period of COVID 19 outbreak, cross border delivery of construction materials, labour shortages and so on brought us challenges at the different stages of the projects.

In October last year, the Kai Tak Sports Park project team won the buildingSMART International openBIM award 2024 in the category of Design for Buildings, from 164 global submissions, and the project was chosen as one of the two finalists in the category of Construction.
