New industry, same old problems

“Have you worked with businesses in our field?” ?? That’s a question I get a lot on discovery calls.

And the truth is, the industries I work with are so diverse and different from one another.

But they all have one thing in common:

Everybody needs systems and automations.

I don’t need to fully understand an industry to help a business with its processes.

That’s why I love today’s story so much - the industry of this business was completely new to me, but the solutions I found for them were very familiar.

This urban development business was working with a project management tool that was… how can I put it politely… a total nightmare!

No one in this company was happy with it.

The owner hired me to find a better project management tool for them.

I started by talking to key figures in the company who were using it on a daily basis, and asked them to walk me through their process, what they liked and didn’t like about their current tool, and what they’d like to have more of to make their lives better.

This particular project was really fun for me, because this company needed their new tool to track billable hours and also have it automatically linked to the overall budget of each project.

We ended up using a tool called Teamwork.com - it has our exact requirements already built in.

Using Teamwork allows everyone in the company to do all the tracking and reporting they have to do, and with a possible three different ways!?
