A New Independence Day

The content in the article below are my own opinions.
What is Independence day - Every country that celebrates their independence day has their own history about it. How they came together to fight a common enemy, how they came together and regained their freedom.
Re-read the last paragraph and think..... Does it resound with what we are facing today, do you see a resemblance of the global fight that we all are in together.
I got my second shot of vaccine on 10th of this month and now I wait for 2 weeks to develop immunity as explained by CDC. As I stepped out of the pharmacy in WTC the word that came to my mind is "Independence"and that is the genesis of this article.
I think there is a need to add 2 more Independence days in our calendars.
- Personal Independence day - 2 weeks after your final shot of vaccine
- National Independence day - The day each country gets 75%-85% of their population vaccinated
Just think about it. A day when we as a global community worked on a common goal to defeat the virus that has brought us to a standstill and a day when we as an individual played our part in helping the cause by getting vaccinated ( I know there are people who oppose the notion of vaccination, and I have nothing against them, but if possible read on and humor me as I will try to draw parallels on the work I do and with the pace at which the vaccine has come out)
As a professional I have been advising, designing and building systems that transfer billions of dollars everyday, I build systems that help make workplace a safe environment, I help build systems and platforms in the cloud. In-fact I build systems that is used everyday. When I talk my clients to understand their needs, I lay down an approach, I define a roadmap, I explain them what is new in technology space and advise them to leverage the NEW. I explain the cloud first mindset and how it will revolutionize their environment. I partner with them to make the right decision. Even though there is some uncertainty/nervousness I do my best to explain adopting the "New" is the best way forward.
Now don't we all do it?
Question :- Do we end up doing things "to the T"? Even though we "Dot our i’s and cross our t’s" is there a need for plan B to be devised ASAP? Does any of the statements makes you think "Yeah" it happened to me in my last project?
As we move ahead with our engagements we find issues that may derail our work, but we believe in what we proposed as an overarching theme and we move forward. We have our our doubts and eventually we succeed. The end goal is achieved although it was not using the exact same path as you planned at the start.
Now thats what has happened in the process of making the vaccine to fight COVID. Scientists have used the latest technologies to develop a vaccine, they have used sophisticated techniques for data analytics and extrapolation to find out the best fit to fight this menace. They have used the latest technologies that were not present in the previous pandemics.
Will the scientist's end us doing things "to the T"? No
Even though the scientist's have "Dot their i’s and crossed their t’s" is there a plan B that they will need to devise ASAP? Yes
Does it mean that I should not trust our scientist across the world. Well the answer is what I can say to the question,
Do I want my clients to trust me?
