New identity, same purpose. Janssen is now Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine

We're excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey as a healthcare leader in Ireland.

As the pharmaceutical business segment of Johnson & Johnson, we will adopt the Johnson & Johnson brand name in Ireland. Janssen will now be known as Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. The medical technology segment will continue to be named Johnson & Johnson MedTech.?

This move marks a new era for us, where we're leveraging our expertise in innovative medicine and medical technology to prevent and treat complex diseases with smarter, less invasive, and more personalised solutions.

Operating in Ireland since 1935, Johnson & Johnson has grown significantly, with a workforce of over 6,000 across ten sites located in five counties (Cork, Dublin, Limerick, Galway, and Mayo).[i] Our Irish operations, encompassing both the Innovative Medicine and MedTech segments, span research and development, manufacturing, shared services and country commercial businesses.

At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, we're committed to leading where medicine is going. We focus on tackling the toughest health challenges, particularly in areas of high patient need. Our research and development spans oncology, immunology, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary, and specialty ophthalmology, with a commitment to changing the standard of care, including evaluation of new drugs and therapeutic interventions that are personalised for optimised clinical outcomes.

Patients are at the heart of everything we do. They inform and inspire our innovations, and we ensure their perspectives are included in all aspects of research, development, and delivery. Our team in Ringaskiddy, Cork, contributes to this work by providing end-to-end development and manufacturing support to our global biotherapeutics portfolio. Meanwhile, our Little Island facility in Cork, manufactures bulk active pharmaceutical ingredients exported globally for further processing into various medicinal forms. Our team in Dublin act as the commercial arm of the business and ensures patients in Ireland have access to our medicines.?

We also collaborate with the wider healthcare system, including patient advocacy groups, to help empower patients through education, new programmes and tools so they can better navigate their journey and manage their disease.

Adopting the Johnson & Johnson brand name in Ireland for our pharmaceutical segment signifies a new identity for us but we have the same purpose. We remain committed to the people we serve, and the possibilities our science provides.

There will be no change to the company names and/or legal status of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine or MedTech companies in Ireland. Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine companies are Janssen Sciences Ireland UC and Janssen Pharmaceutical Sciences UC.
