How do we effectively conduct a ME Day? - Part 1
For those who are new to this newsletter. We have 1 day a week for each of our team members called ME Day to improve things related to the learning day.
It's what we call our thinking day.
I told my team to use it according to their strengths and means.
However, many start skipping it. So, I created this checklist.
- What unexpected twist can I introduce to make this stand out? → Think about a surprise element, unique feature, or perspective shift.
- How can I remix elements from other fields or industries into this? → Borrow concepts from unrelated sectors like technology, art, or nature to spark innovation.
- What can I amplify to make the biggest impression? → Look at aspects you can exaggerate or highlight to grab attention.
- What would happen if I reversed the usual approach? → Flip the expected script or methodology on its head for a fresh take.
- What small detail can I add that makes a huge difference? → Identify a subtle yet impactful change that elevates the idea.
- What would a first-time user or outsider see that I don’t? → View your idea through fresh eyes, like a new user’s perspective or a novice’s viewpoint.
- What happens if I break one of the “rules” or norms? → Challenge a standard convention or rule in your field and see where it leads.
- What’s the boldest, most unconventional thing I could do? → Push boundaries by embracing a daring, unconventional move that disrupts the status quo.
- What things would you never really associate with this stuff? → Once you find the predictable norms, Ask why can't it give us value.
- What would this look like if it were 10x bigger or more ambitious? → Imagine scaling up your idea dramatically to see what opportunities emerge from a larger vision.
- How can I combine two unrelated ideas into something new? → Merge seemingly disconnected concepts to create a novel solution.
- How can this be turned into a game or challenge? → Make the idea more interactive or engaging through gamification.
- What if I approached this with a completely different mindset? → Try thinking like an artist, scientist, or entrepreneur to open new avenues.
- How can I make this idea more shareable? → Consider what would make others want to talk about or promote your idea.
- What is something we are doing now is unexpected or weird in the software world?Whatever it is, it’s probably very subtle and largely accidental. Market loves it.
- How would this change if it were designed for a different market? → Adapt the idea to different demographics or industries to spark new inspiration.
- What would this idea look like if it were fully physical store? → Imagine how it would operate in a big luxury shopping mall.
- How would I pitch this to a skeptical audience? → Refine the idea to address potential objections or concerns upfront.
- What if I only focused on one aspect of this idea? → Narrow the focus and delve deeper into one element to enhance its effectiveness.
- What emotional impact do I want this to have? → Focus on the feelings you want to evoke and let that guide your creativity.

5 个月I will keep it in mind with the acronym "ISLAND" Idea - "What magic can I add?" Slow - "What am I missing?" Less - "What can I remove?" Auto - "Can I automate?" Neat and Easy: How can I simplify this?"
