The New HR A humanistic approach

In conjunction with the 21 new HR roles of the future according to the Harvard business review I would also include the following. In-house organizational psychologists,WFH liaisons, human capital contributors, cultural architects, employee experience and well-being. We can all learn by taking a page out of @classy.org and how they wove well-being into their culture. It's not just enough anymore to foster a culture in the workplace but you have to consider the at home work place now.

Has your company implemented a cultural broker ? A liaison who can help navigate and re-train employees on everything from email etiquette all the way to knowing when not to answer that email. Current discussions around how easy it is for your boss to reach you and how young employees are having a hard time setting boundaries for after Business hours. All of these new trials and tribulations fall under HR but not the typical HR not the data HR not the on boarding and off boarding HR not the new IT work from home HR. But the HR that is going to have to contact humans actually ask them what is working for them and what is not working for them. Be willing to go outside of their normal scope. Is your company prepared to hire a work from home employee who lives so remotely that the Internet is not accessible to them? How about an employee that suffers from self-esteem issues body dysmorphia and being on camera only exacerbates that, is your HR prepared to handle that? @Classy.org they Foster No-Meeting Wednesday Mornings, putting an emphasis back on decompression and personal space.

As you hire new HR staff we must keep in mind that it is not the past but the future with more emphasis on a more humanistic approach. In a data centric world it is easy to forget that there is a person behind that computer, and that person needs to be taken care of. 1/3 of our lifespan is spent at our job, but it's their job prepared to take care of you during that time. Director of well being will see an increase role starting 2026 according to HBR, why are we waiting until 2026 to take care of our employees? A stressed employee is clearly an underperforming employee let's re-invest in our employees well-being.

Thank you for the shoutout! We are committed to the wellbeing of our team members and a culture where everyone flourishes. All while mobilizing and empowering the world for good.
