A new Hitachi solution for Oracle 19c RAC databases with Hitachi VSP 5600 and Advanced Server DS220 G2

Hitachi VSP 5500 storage arrays have been adopted by many customers for their mission critical applications and Oracle databases since the GA date a couple years ago. For example, the #1 US based multinational financial technology company, is using VSP 5500 arrays and operating an online payments system in several countries for rapidly processing?online money payments and transfers. One of the largest e-commerce company ?is processing 1+ Billion dollars’ worth of orders every day using Hitachi solution for Oracle databases with VSP 5500 arrays.

Newly introduced Hitachi VSP 5600 can deliver up to 33M IOPS. With compression accelerator modules, HDP backed by RAID 6 parity groups, and compression enabled the new system can still achieve very high performance in different workload types. Customers now can have much better space utilization without sacrificing performance.

Below are some Oracle database performance result from a two-node Oracle 19c RAC with a single module VSP 5600 array and 64 NVMe SSDs and 2 x two-socket servers, or an Oracle Exadata ? rack equivalent.
