New Heart Fresh Start... Sydney's Heart Journey

I am excited to share the amazing news regarding one of our volunteers. Ms. Sydney Hamilton received a new heart today. Sydney is approaching 23 years of age and has been given the chance to start over with a new heart she desperately needed. Many times I get asked where does the money go when I give to AHA. Sydney’s journey is a perfect example of how donations and sponsorships are invested. We use these funds to support lifesaving research that have made it possible to transplant organs such as a heart or even give someone a pacemaker. AHA works vigorously with the hospital systems to ensure best practices are implemented, increasing survivability, reducing risk and hastening recovery times. We do this and so much more. Her family has been keeping us all updated on how she is progressing and asking everyone to keep the donor family in their thoughts and prayers.
