New Hampshire's Life is Good Company ribbon cutting- 504,000sf new warehouse
Hudson, NH—Life is Good, a purpose driven lifestyle brand company, celebrated their relocation to a new, 504,000 square foot logics, R&D, and office space at 48 Friars Drive, Hudson New Hampshire.? They relocated from two older buildings in the same town and a warehouse they were leasing in Lawrence Massachusetts.? Their new operation supports 225 employees with plans to hire another approximately 50.
How the deal happened
On Labor Day weekend, 2022, Bert Jacobs , co-owner, attended a cookout in Boston.? He was playing cornhole with Jon Posnik , Managing Director for GFI Partners. Bert told Jon about his challenges in finding a new warehouse in the industrial market. Bert was even toying with the idea of looking in California.? Coming out of COVID, the New Hampshire market had no existing 500,000sf warehouse buildings. Bert wanted to stay in low tax NH and keep his employees. Jon had the perfect solution—a land site he was permitting for 504,000sf, only 8 minutes from Bert’s current NH buildings. Life is Good partnered with GFI and they built 40-foot clear logics facility.

Company owners-- their mother is their inspiration.
Bert and John Jacob’s mother, Joan, was one of nine children during World War II.? When Joan was 12-year-old, her 13-year older brother died suddenly. Shortly after his death, Joan went to school and when she got home in the afternoon, her parents had taken everything out of her brother’s bedroom, and she was told not to talk about him.? Then Joan lost three close friends during the war and her parents said she should not be sad because they were heroes.? Eventually Joan had a complete emotional break down from years of buried grief—she could not speak.? Her parents sent her to an insane asylum including shock treatments.? Her grandmother stepped in, took her home and through kindness, open talks, and walks, Joan eventually came out of her darkness.
Second chance at life
When Joan had her own children, she knew she had a second lease on life and always inspired Bert, John, and their four other siblings to make good friends, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and don’t get pulled into the easy path of negative thoughts and talk.? At the dinner table she would say to the kids, “tell me something good that happened today”. Today Bert and John have a foundation to help children facing emotional trauma, The Life is Good Playmaker Project .
