Broadcom Misses VMware Deal Closing Date, Pledges It Will Close 'Soon'

The 17-month saga continued this week: The expected deal close date to acquire VMware came and went, but Broadcom has yet to do so.

Both companies said they expect the deal to close "soon," in a joint statement issued on Monday, but they did not give a new date.

The outside date for the $61 billion deal is Nov. 26, at which point VMware can walk away. The deal has been approved—or at least not objected to—by regulators around the world, except for China.

IBM Acquisition Promises To Boost ERP Consulting Capabilities

IBM announced this week that it plans to buy Indonesian enterprise resource planning and cloud consulting services firm Equine Global to boost capabilities in IBM Consulting.
