New regulation for consumer products
On 12th June 2023, the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR) entered into force. Until 13th December 2024, this new regulation will exist alongside the Directive 2001/95/EC on general product safety (GPSD).

The General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR) applies to consumer products that are made available on the European market and which do not follow legislation harmonised across the European Union and /or specific safety requirements. The aim is to provide to European consumers with safe products.
