Across my 30+ years of working with enterprise software, either as a power-user or with consultancies who implemented, augmented or configured such complicated tools, I've lived in frustration that these mission-critical capabilities never quite solved the issues they were sold or created to do. I've worked mostly with ERP HR, Finance and CRM tools, and always felt that I needed a software engineering degree to work out the logic involved with every transaction. Even the most intuitive and user-friendly tools seemed to degrade quickly into a swamp of feature/function issues that, though may have had a purpose - were oddly positioned, didn't feel like it was anything I needed or killed the flow of what should otherwise have been a smooth, seamless transaction to help me speed up my day and become more productive - freeing me from tiresome administration and bureacracy. But instead it actually extended my attention span, forcing me to learn an alien language and set of process mechanics whose purpose I could only imagine.

In my capacity as a start-up tech venture mentor and accelerator, I get to work alongside some incredibly leading-edge technologies and ingenious founders. Recently I connected with Prab Singh , Founder of Cyberium Inc - an AI low-code software development and configuration tool that literally puts the creation of software builds into the hands of its users - without having to go through painful collaborations between users, architects, developers, business analysts and project teams - which is the current journey software development takes leading to far too much 'lost in translation' moments (chasms).

My good friend, Prab has led a powerful career as a long-time software developer focused on Finance and Banking oriented ERP tools with Standard Chartered Bank, UBS and JP Morgan-Chase for over 16 years. Instead what was created fixed a fraction of the issues that were raised by end-users, which led to many of these tools being shelved, ignored or only partially operational - and the waste pile got exponentially higher by the year. These cost millions of dollars and years to create - but with all the fragmented and disconnected build discussions, planning meetings and lost in translation moments - that time and money was lost to winds, never to be recovered and only creating more, not less friction.
