This leadership approach enables us to tackle our current challenges much more powerfully - ?challenges such as digital transformation and yes, even climate change.

In order to cultivate the health of their organizations, leaders need to embrace this a mindset shift and approach to leadership.

Looking at the natural world, we can recognize that illness – or lack of health -?is a direct result of blockages in the flow of energy.?Just think about the effects of a stroke when the flow of nutrients to the brain is blocked.

ENERGY FLOW IS A SIGN OF AN ORGANIZATION’S HEALTH

The vital role of energy flow is undeniable for organizations. Companies exhibit a similar pattern as is found in nature.?

Energy in an organizational context is manifested in the flow of information through the networks of the organization itself. The flow of energy embodied by employees and stakeholders is observable in the level of their personal motivation and engagement.?When this flow of energy in an organization is blocked, an organization’s health will suffer.

The leadership that is waiting to be born focuses on the flows of information and energy.?

Navigating a world of constant change will not be successful if it relies only on moment-in-time measurements. They are already outdated the moment after they have been collected. The utilization of advanced tools such as Organizational Network Analysis (ONA) is needed to map the territory and the flow of energy throughout an organization.?

This may sound complicated. However, it is actually quite easy to sense whether an organization is healthy or not.?The ultimate measure of an organization’s health is the degree of trust which is widespread throughout the organization.?

How is trust discernible in an organization?

Its presence is recognized by the overall sense of belief in the purpose of the organization, the ethical standards to which an organization voluntarily holds itself accountable as well as the degree of transparency of communication which occurs both inside and outside of the organization.
